On the picture: The large boulevard that runs along the Byzantine city walls. The mosque in the distance is the Mihrimah Sultan Camii at Edirnekapı (also named ‘Edirnekapı Camii’), built in 1565 by Mimar Sinan. It was commissioned by Mihrimah Sultan, the oldest daughter of Sultan Süleyman I (the one who was married to Grand Vizier Rüstem Paşa).
