Şile (the name would not show in the title in its proper spelling) is a town at the Black Sea coast that seems to be considered to be part of Istanbul, although it took more than an hour to get from the Harem bus station on the Asian side of the Bosporus to get to Şile. I stayed two nights and although I had planned to reconnoitre much of the coast there, the weather was so hot that I hardly moved away from the centre of town, and its nearby picturesque harbour. I think I may well return, for having a seaside resort so close to Istanbul is a major attraction. I have the feeling I am not the only one who thinks so, and expect the town to boom in the near future. Some plans are being executed, and more will follow.
Since I did not move about much you may find the pictures repetitive. And since the current town presents almost no old monuments you will see the Genoese tower or what remains of it over and over again. And very few old houses, for once.
