Patersons Curse

Echium plantagineum, Boraginaceae
Tamworth, New South Wales
An introduced species all too prevalent in grasslands and pastures of the southern Australian interior, reducing pasture productivity.
However, it persists during severe drought, at which time it can become a key forage, prompting the alternative common name of Salvation Jane.

Interesting. Good to know it has a use, despite being non-native.

One person's curse, another's salvation. I'll opt just for the beauty.

I like 'Salvation Jane' much better than 'Patersons Curse' - that purple is 'Royal' - nice image!
