Jacaranda carpet

When the Jacarandas bloom around town, the weather is heating up rapidly, and it is often very dry but with a first hint that our tropical wet season is on its way.
We had a substantial shower of rain yesterday, the first for several months, and it brought down this carpet of flowers from a neighbour's large overhanging tree.

In school we used to arrange to have one fall on our heads to ensure passing exams :) Love those jacarandas ! Makes a pretty carpet. V

Our trees are dropping leaves in much the same way - - that's why they call it Fall - - like the purple blossoms !

They look so beautiful, even when fallen. I remember Sydney being famous for its jacaranda when we lived in Australia.
