Cairns Birdwing male

Ornithoptera euphorion, Papilionidae
Tully Gorge, Queensland, Australia
Males have a wingspan of 125 mm; females are plainer but even larger at 150 mm (next photo), making them the equal largest butterfly in Australia with the New Guinea Birdwing.
