Acacia calyculata

This north Queensland species of woodlands and open forest is often a ground cover but sometimes a shrub to 1 m tall.
I haven't found a common name for it.

So many of the Australian flowers seem to have this 'bottle brush' appearance. Does that have to do with the ease of spreading pollen?
