Cape Leadwort (Plumbago auriculata)

Cape Leadwort does well in this area and is popular in local gardens. Though this is not an Australian native plant, it has been enthusiastically adopted as a food plant by the Plumbago Blue butterfly http://www.pbase.com/donfranklin/image/147734956) – it’s native food plant is Plumbago zeylanica – and in consequence this butterfly is the most abundant species in my home town.
