Bossiaea (Bossiaea armitii)

Just add water!
Bossiaea is a drought-hardy shrub with minute leaves (the little projections) but flattened stems that serve as photosynthetic but water-saving surfaces.
I grew this from seed collected locally and planted it out on the tail of the last wet season.
We are now deep into a drier-than-average dry season, and recent plantings deserve a watering to get them through their first year. A good soaking, and … voilà, it springs to life.

other sizes: small medium original auto
