African Tulip (Spathodea campanulata)

I have mixed feelings about this non-native tree, which was planted by a previous owner. On the one hand, the large flowers and flower buds are beautiful. On the other, its seeds are readily dispersed and it is prone to becoming a weed invading rainforests. It also seems to contribute little in the way of food for wildlife.

Always a problem when you live in an area close to natural scrublands. v

I think this is also called a Flame Tree which I remember in Africa. It is sad that nowhere is free from invaders - but this is a pretty one. Nice shot V

It is beautiful, but I agree about non native invasives. Sad when they compete with and displace native flora.
