pool in Dry River

Late August: there's been no effective rainfall in the catchment of the Dry River for several months, and it has stopped flowing. A rock bar holds up this large pool.
I wonder whether it will last through the remainder of the dry season - it may be 2 to 4 months before heavy rains return and the river flows again.

Interesting information. Your climate is so different than ours...so long periods between rains.

You might be glad you took a photo Don, it could dry up completely in that time! v

It is a sobering thought to think of such a long period without rain, but I would think that is the norm (?), and plants and animals have adjusted? At least I hope so. This is a remarkably lush looking and lovely photo.
