Pied Currawong

That large, raven-like bill serves the currawong in many ways - currawongs are consumate predators of lizards, birds' eggs and nestlings and large insects, but are equally at home consuming fruit or seeds.
Any resemblence to a raven is superficial or convergent; currawongs are in the essentially Australasian family Artamidae which includes butcherbirds, Australian magpies and woodswallows.

I remember seeing these and thinking at first they were some sort of Corvid, but soon learned I was wrong. They are remarkable birds. Your shot is beautifully detailed and I like the composition very much. V

That eye and bill spell "Let's raid the picnic lunch" - - at least that's what our crows do! Nice catch

Fabulous shot Don, ours down here don't have the white on the wing... v
