I lived in St. Petersburg in 1952 and 1953 when I was four and five years old. We had moved after there after a short stay my aunt Norma in Miami and we moved back to Miami in August 1953 so I could start first grade at St. Mary's Parochial School. I can clearly remember various places in St. Pete where we lived, spent hours on the beach and fishing. I also have fond memories of Shaffer's Nursery across from the beach in Gulfport, a block or so west of the Casino and the pier. My wife Karen's sister and mother now live in St. Pete and I love going there on weekends every month.
