The sign was at the Norwood branch of Financial Federal where he worked from the early 60's until he retired three weeks earlier on September 1st, 1975. He became employed with Miami Beach Federal Savings & Loan Association in the early to mid 50's, working mostly at their main office at the corner of Lincoln Road and Washington Avenue on Miami Beach but also at their South Shore branch and North Shore branch on Miami Beach and their Sunny Isles branch. When they opened a new Norwood branch on the mainland he took a permanent transfer there because the commute was considerably shorter than the other branches. They were originally in a shopping center on the northwest corner of NW 7th Avenue and 183rd Street until Miami Beach Federal built a new building near the southeast corner of that intersection.
Miami Beach Federal S&L became Financial Federal in the late 60's or early 70's as I recall. It then became part of NationsBank for years and then the current Bank of America. Miami Beach Federal was the 3rd federal savings and loan association chartered, following First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Miami (August 8, 1933) and Chase Federal Savings & Loan of Miami Beach shortly thereafter.
It appears from the current Geotag photo of the area that the bank building is now a vacant lot.
