The Goodyear blimp crew gave unit members a briefing on their airship operations at Opa-locka Airport. Goodyear could no longer use Watson Island for the larger blimp due to space considerations and were rebuffed by the City of Miami in an effort to build a blimp base on Virginia Key. They had to relocate to Opa-locka Airport until they could build their blimp base at Pompano Airpark in Pompano Beach.
