1947 - boys admiring Pan American's first flight site in Key West
Key West, Florida
From the state archives description: "Boys standing near sign marking the site of Pan Am's first flight. Site at Key West of first flight by Pan Am, to Havana, Cuba, on October 28, 1927."
Mr. Boyd,
These photographs are absolutely beautiful - I was wondering if there was any way prints are available for purchase. My father was a captain for Pan American most of his career in aviation - he even worked for them as a mechanic after Vietnam. I would love to buy a print of "boys admiring pan am fist flight site..." for his birthday. Could you please e mail me if you get a chance - I know he would be moved by this image. Thank you so much for creating such an amazing visual feast with this collection of archival photos; it really made my day when I found them online. My email address is bking3@schools.nyc.gov. Thanks again!!
