My next door neighbor Edward "Mickey" Packler identified the Dade Theatre and says that the Regency Theatre was just around the corner on NW 17th Avenue. Jackson High School would be off on the left side out of the photo and west of NW 17th Avenue. The Dixie Tires on the right was replaced by a Royal Castle and other businesses in the early 1950's after this photo was taken. The movie at the Dade Theatre was The Pirate starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly among others and it was released on June 11, 1948.
