Thank you to Miami Stingaree Fred Darwick for sending me an e-mail with this image in it. The e-mail states that the theatre opened on February 25, 1938 and was Florida's first drive-in theater. This flyer is for the movies showing the week of July 10, 1938. Admission per person was only 25 cents with children under 12 free. As you can see, owners of even the early drive-in theaters saw the value of letting younger children in free as a way to get the parents out to their theaters more often. "No Babysitter Costs," was an early drive-in gimmick that would really catch on in the 1950's.
