The Miami-Dade County Commissioners passed an ordinance prohibiting convicted sex offenders from living within 2500 feet of schools, parks or anywhere children congregate so this is the only place besides a few spots in wealthy Pinecrest or out in the Everglades where sex offenders can spend the night from 10pm to 6am to avoid violating the ordinance. They live in tents and shacks built by the offenders with no electrical power or water supply. Some spend the nights in their cars with their wives. One sex offender is a woman convicted of exposing her breasts in front of minors in a game of strip poker with a female friend.
