Wow, these pictures of Brown's blew me away. I soloed here when I was 16. It was Aero Country club in 1961 and I did a lot of hangar flying there. The reason the field looks so expansive was that there was a group of Florida pines at the east end of the runway. The trees must have been smaller when these pictures were taken because I remember almost landing in those trees when my flaps retracted unexpectedly right after take off. This field forced me to learn short field take offs and landings and tin the winter, the northerly winds added to the challenge. Thanks for the memories.
