1930's - Naval Reserve Air Base Miami as depicted on the Miami Air Guide

Northwest Dade County, Florida

Thank you to Alvin Lederer for contributing this large high resolution image of the Miami Air Guide that allowed me to crop this image for display in this gallery.

According to the guide's map, the western portion of what would become Opa-locka Airport was a dirigible base, NARB or NAS Miami was labeled as "Navy Airport", and the dirigible hangar is labeled as "Municipal Dirigible Hangar" which would indicate that the City of Miami owned the hangar and not the Navy.
