Great Horned Owl sitting on young in the bucket Tom Heatley (Macomb Audubon) set up years ago! I learned owls do not make nests; they just use existing nests built by mostly hawks. This bucket also works well!

Last year she was scared off or something and left early. It was great to see her back again! Banding the chicks was scheduled the following weekend.

No "pea green boat" and no pussycat and not at sea, but I cannot ever see her without thinking of the Burl Ives song. Such a treasure!
