Becky and Max

Becky is our black and white Border Collie / Lab cross. We got her from the Edmonton
SPCA in September 2002 when she was a year old. She is a dignified girl, and extremely
gentle with her human family. Her speed is phenomenal and she is a natural athlete.

In August of 2003 we went back to the SPCA and came away with Maxwell. He was
about a year old at the time, making him Becky's junior by a year. He is a charmer
and a real character, and loves to get under Becky's skin. Luckily she outweighs
him by a good ten pounds and can put him in his place if he goes too far. According
to the SPCA staff, Max is a Doberman cross, but they were only guessing since he was
picked up as a stray. A fellow at our off-leash dog park has an Australian Kelpie
that is almost identical to Max, and he insists that Max is a Kelpie. We think he
is right, because Max has some very strong herding instincts.

Becky and Max are great companions and love to compete in chasing balls and
treeing squirrels. They live for their walks, and luckily Edmonton has some
wonderfully spacious off-leash parks.

Loved this gallery of your two beauties. So sad when we have to say goodbye but they are always close by because we carry them in our hearts. They both reached a wonderful age which is a compliment to your devotion to them.
