A school of porpoises in Discovery Passage on the east side of Campbell River.

The seagulls have lined up on the dock railing to watch the show.

This photo was taken from Quadra Island. The porpoises are 1.5 kilometers away
according to the distance measuring tool in Google Maps. This photo was taken
at pretty much the same angle as the next photo in this gallery, except this is a
focal length of 600mm (full frame equivalent) and the next one was taken at 35mm.

It is absolutely wonderful to see these magnificent animals. My only concern is that is such a busy place for ships. I worry for their safety. Did you happen on this or did you have to stake out? No matter which, this is a great image. V

intriguing image...perhaps the seagulls are studying just how to travel in formation..
