Sometimes You Just Screw Up..

Trinidad, Sancti Spíritus Province, Cuba

Ordinarily I would not post an image where I clearly missed the shot as far as focus point and sharpness are concerned. I had the wide angle zoom on my OM-D and so reached for my TG-4 which was set for something else and therefor too slow a shutter speed. Who knows what I was focusing on. I loved this scene and wanted to capture it and in my excitement got it wrong. During this whole trip, I would come upon fast moving and quickly changing scenes like this all the time. Not always was I up to the task of capturing what I saw. Despite baseball being the national sport, soccer (football) is very, very popular there. I saw it being played by kids and others in all sorts of places. I loved this scene of these kids playing in the street and so am posting it so I retain the memory.

Sharpness is a fine art landscape photographer's best friend, behind light. For street photography, not so critical as it shows people in a dynamic way, just so long as one face in the composition is sharp. V!

Works! We can't nail them all when shooting the on-going world! V

Great blur and softness which causes a certain melancholic mood! Very beautiful V

"Memory Shots" are sometimes the best ones!!! I can see why you posted this. It's a wonderful slice of life in Cuba.

I sometimes think we concentrate on sharpness too much - I love this with it's painterly quality - you captured the moment beautifully The little goalie is precious ! BV
