The Mall from the plane

Washington, D.C.

I was happy to have a window seat on the starboard side of the plane because I knew that would give me a nice, albeit quick view of the mall area during takeoff. I was quite irritated to find that there was some sticky residue all over my window. As we waited for boarding to complete I used everything from antibacterial hand wipes to my fingernails to try and scrape it off. What I would have given for some Goo-Gone and a rag. Alas, it was not to be. I eventually managed to get a small spot cleared away. Of course, as I angled to get this shot before we flew out of view, I still managed to get a couple of the smudges to ruin my shot. And, yes. My coworker next to me was shaking her head and laughing at me as I scraped at and cursed whatever was on the glass.

Under the circumstances you got a very good shot!! Perseverance pays :)

She just doesn't understand the importance of this. I love the shot anyway. Great view of the mall. Guess you ought to take some Goo-gone next time. That is, if they let you on the plane with it.
