Hello Dick,

Sorry to send you another email so soon after the last, but I had to comment on one of your photos. Your photo of the black bellied whistling ducks is fantastic and it reminded me of something I saw last winter in our neighborhood. I was leaving my house in mid-afternoon on a rainy day and as I approached the stop sign at Glouchester and Greenbrook, I saw a large bird on the ground in Bob Head's front yard. When I got closer, I realized it was a black bellied whistling duck, just walking around and looking around in all directions like it was lost. After watching it from my car for a while, I got out and approached it to see if it was injured and it just flew away. I really wished I had my camera with me that day. By the way, thanks for all the information on Arkansas and the Petit Jean area and Tatanka Timbers. I showed my wife your pics of Petit Jean Mountain and we might be going there later this week.

Hi Dick, Very Nice Gallery. I love you Birds. They are Great. I have not been shooting digital that long. I shot just about all of my photos on 35mm slides ASA 25. I have three Canon's,A1,AE1 & a FTB. I went digital after my accident. I was in a automobile accident three years this lasted Oct the first. I am paralyzed from my waist down. I am going to turn some of my slides into digital and them I can put them on my site. I am looking for a slide and flim scanner. You keep up the GOOD WORK. Wow, what a variety of birds. Your shots are great and you have so many birds... I am doing a gallery of Bosla Chica Wetlands in Huntington Beach Ca. and know now that I need some more length to my lenses and to know more about the birds I am shooting....once again great job...

I hit the East unit about noon and spotted two Vermillion Flycatchers, they were in the low trees to the east of the sign. (Got winthin about 20 feet of one as he kept returning to the same tree.) I had a very productive day and will be posting some of the pictures by tomorrow afternoon. In addition to the Flycatchers, I got some nice shots of two Caracara and several raptors.

January 2nd - It was a pleasure to meet with you this morning. Alas = the Vermilion did not oblige and cove visit the visitor's parking sign. They had also changed the water flow in that entire section of the refuge. It was a pleasure today to be out in the fog.
I might try Sheldon tomorrow and then give it up until spring break.
