Four Pointer

The on/off snow from yesterday cleared to a sunny albeit very cold day so I decided to drive to
Perry Park, about 20 minutes south of home. With snow on the ground the deer tend to be a little
braver showing themselves so I knew I'd be able to get some shots. In this case it was a four point
Mule Deer buck. I gather Mule Deer are called x pointers depending on how many points there are on
each antler, not including the tines. A similar White Tailed Deer would be referred to as an eight
pointer, counting all the major points on both antlers. I'm sure there's logic to the reasoning!
P.S. I'm a few days behind as I decided to ride out the hardware problems Pbase was experiencing.
Below is a female that was enjoying the shade, until I approached!!!!

Wow, what a beautiful sharp shot for your return! The surface detail on the antlers shows up wonderfully in the sun, with the dark trees in the background.
