Keeping On Track

Note to self: Ignore the idiots and keep having fun even if the results are ridiculous!!!
This is ridiculous for numerous reasons, but mainly because I had to lie down next to a railway
line with my chin on a sleeper holding a torch again the track with one hand and handling the
camera with the other! If you don't try things, you don't learn, even if it's pointless ;->
I'm sure Mog would approve as I gather his criteria is simply that it should be different!!!!

P.S. Thanks for all the kind support on my previous shot - IT WAS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

Er, I'm sorry but did you say you "had to lie down next to a railway
line with my chin on a sleeper"? That's it, you have officially gone stark staring mad. Love the shot though; great focus and a strong feeling of rust and verdigris.

I find the story of how you got the shot more interesting than the shot itself, but that's what makes us keep coming back to your galleries Dave!

Nice one, you nailed it without going off the rails.

The light and shadows give this image a lot of depth! Very well done.

Love the creativity and uniqueness of this image. Very interesting and fascinating. v

I wish I could have taken a "snap" of you sprawled out along the rail. What an image that would have been. LOL.
Nice low perspective here. Perfect shallow DoF which brings the eye right where you want it. Damned nice job for a "snapper." hehe

Did you hear the train coming while you were down there;)
Loved Davids comment. lol I was thinking the same thing.
The shot turned out well.

LOL at both Scott's and Jim's comments! That is dedication to the cause,Dave, but worth all that discomfort. I presume you tied MOG to the rails and will go back for shooting the results!! Take care.:o)

I didn't think you went the extra mile, sat in the mud, waited for 5 hours for the perfect light, or any of that kind of stuff to get a photo. Now I'm all confused! ;-)

You should have taken the shot at sunset with a naked woman holding a flower laying on the tracks. Then you would would have been an honest to goodness pho-tog-grapher. ;)
