The Little Things

Homebound on call for Thanksgiving, but it gives me a chance to appreciate the little things.
We have a small two foot Aspen tree in the yard and it's still holding on to it's last leaf.
My father in law, David Barrett (click), picked this little tree when it was just a few inches tall and growing
as a weed at the hospital Beth was born at. A little thing, but something we get to enjoy everyday, like
the smiles, the fun and the laughter.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Below is my entry for the Thursday Challenge,

That's what's life is all about. You've said it so well.

You have captured great detail in this leaf Dave, not easy as Aspen leaves are normally constantly on the move in the breeze. It reminds me of a Carr's Water Biscuit! All the more special because the tree holds such fond family memories for you.

Good artistic eyes. Good capture of things of meaning to one's life. Love the simple composition too. v

Yes indeed Dave. It is the little things in life that really matter.
Like having enough brains to read what the artist said about the shot before leaving a thoughtless anonymous comment.
That little Aspen has roots grounded in pure family love my friend and probably has the strength of 100 of the tallest trees in the land.
And on that note, I think everyone would like to see another shot of that glorious leaf which transcends oceans and generations of love. So go ahead if you can and lay another one on us.
Well done Dave. More please......
