Six Miles Of Darkness

We did one of our usual drives no where in particular looking for little points of interest which
ended up on Rollins Mountain Pass leading to Moffat Tunnel. In this shot you can just make out the
'door' to the tunnel opening for a coming train. I did get some shots of the train entering the
tunnel but didn't like the lack of a light. An excuse for a return!!??
"One of the most famous railroad tunnels in America at over 6 miles long, the Moffat Tunnel penetrates
James Peak and the continental divide to eliminate the severe hardship of operating tracks over the
highest parts of Rollins Pass."

It looks like a tight squeeze in there.

Mmmm - I think I'd give that journey a miss - don't fancy 6 miles underground! But what a feat of engineering!!!
