Stingy Thingy

Just a wasp on the glass of the deck. The sun was in front of me and I had to use the flash which I couldn't turn down enough.
My week of on call is almost over so I'll have a little more freedom tomorrow for a while.

Nice work, Dave. Glad to see you go after some of these. They're usually pretty safe to shot until Fall, when they can become very aggressive if you're near their nests. Then they'll attack without warning. ;)

Wow! This is a terrific close up. My pet hate...I see they look much the same you side of 'the pond'. Although I am having to get used to hornets here these last 3 years....a dreadful sight, but they seem to be less agressive.
