Singled Out

Elk roam these fields (about 15 minutes from home) in the evenings every March and September, and, as you can see they're back again.
A few hundred normally congregate on the fields off the main road I use, so all being well I might be able to get a closer shot.
Elk are fairly common around Colorado, but it's still a treat seeing them on the way home from work.

Lovely light, which really helps separate them from the background. I like their position in the frame, especially the one on its own, which looks like it's in a spotlight!
