We popped to Waterton Canyon to stretch the dogs legs and get some fresh air and enjoy the last light of the day.
As I approached the ponds this was the scene I was presented with, but within 30 seconds the sun had dipped behind the foothills and the heron was gone.
I'm not pleased with this shot as it was taken in haste, but I'll bear it in mind next time and be a little more prepared!!
