In the old days, cars were only allowed to leave Agadez in pairs. We paired up with some Italian engineers, driving back to their village in the piemonte from their jobs in Maiduguir, Nigeria.
We traveled with them for weeks. (Titi, sorry, I finally lost the "Deep Purple" cassette!)
