My (New) Faithful Steed

Two weeks ago, I bought a new bicycle, a Trek 3900 cross-country
mountain bike. I absolutely love it. I haven't cycled for years,
but this bike is so much fun. I've already gotten in several ten
mile rides and I'm hardly sore anymore so I guess I'm getting used to it.

As my PaD winds down (8 days left) it's rather neat to have a new
passion -- cycling. I'm sure I'll keep doing photography, but now
I have something else to preoccupy me (and get me fit as a fiddle!).

Just as I did with photography, I've joined a cycling website and
have begun spending FAR too much time reading posts and learning all
about my new obsession.

Today, I reached the first 100 miles on the new bike. And I have all
these neat accessories -- a helmet, of course, and a bell, and even
a bike computer which has an odometer and five other functions.

Canon PowerShot A70
1/800s f/2.8 at 5.4mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

That's the same bike I want to get!! Well, a women's size, anyway. It's a beauty for sure!

Good for you Gary. You'll soon be slimmer than me! ;-)
Does the bike have a GPS unit? LOL

Nice bike but watch out for those
newly permitted drivers on the road!

Wow, that`s a great source of exercise! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Good choice Gary, sounds like fun and your doing better than me, I have been riding my bike and my calfs hurt so bad the next day, I could hardly walk up the stairs. My hubby complains of his butt hurting, so I bought him a gel cushion and he still complains, I think it is his excuse not to exercise, LOL.

Make sure you take the PoweShot on your rides!

Cycling is always fun and relaxing.

I think you should start mapping out a real x-country trek. All 3000 miles. Think of the PaD possibilities.

Think of all the photo opps you can stir up on your rides...PaD year is sure to be a cinch for you!
Guest 22-Jun-2005 22:56
Ohh yes, you can have both passions doing great, bike and photo must be a very fun mixture!!

Where'd you get the Powershot from?
Nice bike. I think this will be a much more healthful hobby than photography!

I bring my little Canon S50 with me on all my cycling ventures - road and mountain bike and it is great to combine the two passions! Have fun!

Do you get the feeling that everyone is happy for you to have a new hobby, but please don't leave us! ;) Good way to get fit, tho!

You will love your TREK. Take your camera every time you ride! I do and it gives me an excuse for a rest stop. "I wasn't resting, I had to stop to take this shot".
With your enthusiasm you'll be doing century rides before long.

I see a great looking bike. Nice of you to exercise on your body but keep exercising your mind by bringing us nice new photographs to admire (and comment).
Cheers and watch out for the crazy cars ;-))

Well, now, you just strap your camera bag to your back & away you go. No more talk of not continueing here...okay !!
