Just got my 8 x 8 Payne's gray backdrop from Owen's. The hot spot is much more subdued than on Janet's (first image in this gallery). I'm a little disappointed that it isn't "hotter". After this picture was taken I lowered the backdrop so the hot spot would be centered behind my sujects. Two 580ex Canon flashes are bounced off the umbrellas and the Sunpak 383 with a Lumiquest softbox is temporarily being used as my hairlight. It is triggered by an optical slave under the flash.
