The bane of the digital photographer's existence - a combination of red and dappled sun! Red is one of the hardest colors for digital camera sensors, with images losing detail rather regularly and the color being too intense. Choosing the type of lighting under which to shoot can help. In the case of this image, taken this morning, I underexposed one full stop, added black to the red, my "trick" for adding more detail and toning down the "blaring" quality reds can have. Also did a selective color adjustment playing with the cyan/red slider to improve the red color. Click on "next" to see geranium flowers like these photographed in open shade.
