I hope I remember all I did. First I lightened with a levels adjustment. Niticed it was slightly noisy so I applied a light touch of Noise Ninja. Skin was too red so I went into hue/saturation, selected red from the dropdown menu and moved the hue slider to the right very slightly. Selected the irises of the eyes and lightened the blue. Selected the whites of the eyes and desaturated them of the blue cast. I tried to lighten the lips which look like they have lipstick on, but was unsuccessful, so I left them alone. Noticed he had a red mark on top of his head so I used the patch tool to cover that. Used the rubber stamp tool to obscure the dark shadows under his eyes. Adding a blank layer and changed to soft light mode and used a 10% opacity soft brush to lighten the shadoow under his neck. Finally, selected him and sharpened slightly. The original picture was not supercrisp. If I sharpened any more it wouldn't have looked good. Considering the original from which I worked was only a 60K image, it's amazing how much of it could be successfully changed!
