I'm not sure what makes these "Italian" except that my Gramma Cappoini said so.
1 box dark brown sugar
1 lb of Crisco (NOT the butter flavor one)
1 lb Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 lb of chopped walnuts
6 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
6 cups of flour
Mix well, pinch off pieces about the size of a meatball, place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400 degrees for 12- 15 minutes.
* These cookies don't flatten out much while baking like some chocolate chip recipes do. Also these are not overly sweet. Hope you like them!
