San Pedro Manrique is a tiny village in the province of Soria, in Spain. They have an interesting tradition: In the night of the 24th of June (the summer solstice)the villagers walk over the fire to thank to the village's saint for a special favour that he might have done to this person (having found a job, his/her mother having healed of a sickness, etc). Most of the people cross the fire carrying another person on their backs.
The secret to not get burnt? Step hard on the ashes, so they'll extinguish for a moment the flame.
