1965 Plymouth Belvedere Super Stock - 426-cid race HEMI

Hickory Corners, Michigan

This 1965 Plymouth A-990 factory lightweight was the fifth car
manufactured on the first day of Race Hemi production, November 25,
1964, at Chyrsler's Detroit Lynch Rd. Assembly Plant. It was also
the only DD1 Medium Blue Metallic Plymouth Hemi made that year and
was purchased from Kliptien Motor Sales, Cheyenne, Wyoming in December
1964. This factory lightweight came with no heater, no rear seat or seat
belts and was equipped with thinner steel, thinner tempered glass and
thin walled exhaust, all in an effort to drastically reduce weight.

Its well documented race history includes three years running at various
drag strips, including runs at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967, Pikes Peak
during 1967 and 1968, as well as the "Mint 400" off-road race in 1968.
