This little guy used up a couple of his lives today. As I tried to move closer to him, I startled a Northern Water Snake that was getting ready to strike. It was a bit unnerving to me too, especially when a large adult water snake jumped in the water right next to me after the first one was spotted. Through all this, the frog did not move. The snakes were cruising the water's edge where this frog sat, so I decided to stay back myself! I'm pretty sure he was someone's dinner.
