Leap Day?
You know, I had been planning
the photo that was supposed to
be today's picture for weeks.
It was going to be a mid-air jump.
You know, off some stairs or something.
I was even going to pull out my good gear.
(and no, that is not how I did this)
A ruptured Plantaris Tendon prevented it.
It was hard to decide to post this photo.
Anyone who knows me knows about my
long and difficult history of crutches.
There are two reasons I decided to post it.
The first is that this is a life blog.
Even when it sucks, it will remain that.
The second is that this will not take long.
The pain really subsided through the day.
24 hours later it is like I climbed
Mount Monadnock or something yesterday.
Just that "ouch, don't move me" kind of pain.
The Doctor said you don't actually need
that particular tendon in your leg,
so losing it is no big deal once it heals.
At this rate I should be walking in a couple days.
I call that the power of positive thinking!
Oh, and how DID I do this?
Well I was having fun, which I do a lot of since the divorce.
Was I being stupid?
Sure, a little (or a lot, it was still fun).
Will I do it again?
If I am physically able to ride shopping carts, sure,
although I might lower the speed and distance I am trying for ;-)
How old are you?
You are as old as you feel and act!
Life is for living, even when tendons snap.
