They have always fascinated me

There is just something about escalators.
Was it the kid who had his hand torn off by one?
Wow, that was back in kindergarten.
Or is it the mechanics of them.
The huge workings under them to move stairs.
I have never totally understood it.
And yet every time I am on one I am thrilled.
I guess it just can't be explained.
They are one of the great inventions of man.
The humble escalator.

Buffy had wondered why I always photograph them.
Really, how can I not, they are wondrous things.
