Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?

This picture is over a week old.
I took this at the start of the first Patriots game.
I just wanted something to mark the start of the season.
I am sure you are aware of what happened minutes later.
My quarterback went down for the season.
Thinking clearly about it this may end is career.
Some people come back from these and some people do not.
It comes down to the exact nature of the injury.
So now my team has a new quarterback running the show.
His first shot in the game was deep in his own end zone.
Matt Cassel stood back there and tossed a 51 yard hero shot.
The scream I let out while the ball was in the air was loud.
Just as loud as if Tom Brady had been the one throwing it.
It just floated into Randy Moss' hands like a feather.
That was what I needed to see him do and he did it.
Now I know Matt is no Tom Brady at this point.
However the kid seems to have the guts to do it.
No matter what the outcome of his first start I will cheer.
This is what sports is all about in my book.
Stepping up and doing your best that you can on that day.
I do wish Tom a speedy recovery and I hope he can come back.
However, if he can not come back from this devastating injury,
I want to thank him for all the fun of the past few years.
The games that I was ready to snap like a twig from tension.
The tough losses and the fantastic wins I have seen.
I also want to thank him for the Superbowl hats I wear.
Mostly for that first one with the cool blue hat.
The game against Oakland and all the ones against the Steelers.
It has been fun watching him but now Matt is my guy.
And to you Matt, please wear a brace on you front leg.
And then go out there and do your best.
That is all I am expecting and it is good enough to win.
Oh, and if you could just beat the freaking Jets, I would be a happy guy!
