These men were waking for the shaking of the minarets at the tomb of the 14th century Iranian Sufi (mystic), Abdollāh Gārlādāni. They are famous in Iran, because a person may stand at the top of one minaret and rock it, making not only it shake but the other one also. In the public imagination this attraction has overshadowed the cultural and religious significance of the tomb itself.
