Tower of Silence and skyline of Yazd. A Tower of Silence is traditionally used by Zoroastrians as a religious site to leave their dead for vultures to consume. These days the practice is outlawed; vultures are also reluctant to come given the close proximity of an expanding Yazd. Photo taken on August 18, 2015 in Yazd, Iran.
