This background is lighted from camera right, using an 11.5 inch 65 degree reflector fitted with a Speedotron snap-on diffuser and a dark red gel taped over that,and the resulting red light shined onto the background paper so as to have some deliberate fall-off at the bottom of the frame,to better delineate the figure,and the brighter spot to draw the eye up and toward the face. This is a way to apply a sort of graduated fill with corner vignetting, right at the time of shooting. Mainlight is a 48 inch tall softbox camera right,and a P22 panel with white fabric is close to the subject to give strong fill-in on the shadow side of the body.
