This is one of my nephews, Jayze, playing on some equipment at a child's birthday party last year. I shot this with the Nikon D1 in Aperture-Priority Auto mode using a 135mm f/2.8 AiS Nikkor manual focus lens. I had dialed in -.7 stop exposure compensation to keep from totally blowing out the highlights, and the camera selected 1/250th second for the shutter speed. This was shot in JPEG Fine mode, which on the D1 yields apprx. a 1.2 megabyte JPEG. This is pretty close to right off the CF card, except for sizing and USM,and a very, very slight curves tweak of the highlights to make the background appear a little brighter, and the green of the grass a little bit more intense.
