One VERY loud demonstration of a one and a half pounder being fired at the Jacobites in a Lace Wars re-enactment.
We were told that in battle, some of these, loaded with grape shot were fired at a range of six feet!.

Good shot, the cannon and the photo. It is very difficult to catch the fire, even when firing blanks.
